about ten minutes from middleton—a suburb of the vaguely neoliberal madison, wi– there is an even more heterosexual suburb of middleton called middleton hills. and two suburbs deep, surrounded by old white people and their dogs, these small-town queers, tranarchists, butches, femmes, riot grrls, edgy middle-schoolers, gender dreamers, theory nerds, outside agitators, and even a few accomplices have had enough. in middleton hills, there are absolutely no queer spaces, and indeed no spaces at all besides suburban homes, largely unused public parks, and a few hierarchically managed local businesses. instead of building queered networks of care, we read emma goldman in the darkness of our suburban homes, wondering if we’re the only soul in this suburb who’s ever dreamed of anything more than hoa violations and manicured lawns. but for all its isolating, perfect, orderly normalcy, middleton hills didn’t feel actively hostile until the terf propaganda showed up. a bigot had been putting up stickers for the hateful and transphobic women’s liberation radio network outside local businesses and apartment buildings—and that was when we all decided to fight back.

Upper Darby Military Recruitment Office Vandalized

A military recruitment office in Upper Darby was attacked with paint. We wrote slogans and threw red paint on the facade. Born from our love, grief, and rage, this was a letter to Gaza and those in solidarity with the Palestinian uprising against colonial power. This wasn’t done to only send a message to imperialists, consider it an attempt to warm passersby chilled by the cold logic of genocide. In the face of massive non-disruptive protest, we hope we can inspire others to act more directly and confrontationally. Those pushing imperialism and islamophobia are being watche and can expect resistance.

RIP Ganda, killed by the same Amerikkan imperialism that feels entitled to exploit and kill without repercussion.

Spite, a bitter herb cultivated in the unseen gardens of the soul, rarely finds its use as the catalyst for translation. Yet, there are moments, hidden in the seams of difference, where one becomes entangled in the shadowy dance of the sentiment, translating not in harmony but in defiance – each word a step, a movement against the original author’s drift. What stirs this rebellion? Perhaps a glimpse of misconduct, some shaking variance, or a yearning to illuminate alternate viewpoints hidden in the prose.

Here, translation metamorphoses; it is no longer a vessel of preservation but a medium to unveil distortions and misconceptions embedded in the original narrative. Satire and caricature become the translator’s brush, painting to reveal the folly embedded in the source. Transcreation, a delicate mixture of translation with creation, forms a canvas for political commentary, a mirror reflecting accountability, and a testament to linguistic transcendence. It’s an intimate embrace of the original’s heartbeat, ensuring its pulse remains, sounding in the intricacies of another cultural landscape. Like a memory recollected in a dream, it feels familiar but is painted with the hues of a different world, speaking softly to its new audience.

Calling on USians to Memorialize Jennifer Laude and call for American withdrawal from the Philippines

An Urgent Plea from the Philippines

To the brave comrades of Turtle Island:

Last year, we asked antifascists in the U.S. to act for us in commemorating our slain sister Jennifer Laude, killed by an American soldier. While there was some commemoration and remembrance of Jennifer Laude, this was done after her death anniversary on October 11 because the initial open letter calling for the commemoration initially fell on deaf ears. Earlier, Filipino/a/x autonomists, anarchists, and abolitionists in the so-called Philippines and its diasporas wrote an open letter asking US anti-fascists to resist the return of the murderer of Jennifer Laude to the United States, but his return was not resisted, and we received no report of any action protesting his return.

The Spook and the Spectre: When Black Anarchism Knocks at The Master’s Door

We’re here to speak on the culture of black anarchism being discussed in some previous report backs. Very insightful and meaningful report backs but measuring the locality of Black anarchism seems to be a feat that has been left up to the petty bourgeois and/or biracial anarchists who either belong to and/or have proximity to the very same white sub-cultural anarchic spaces they critique and therefore have a very limited understanding concerning historical consciousness and relevancy of the Black Radical Tradition. They’re deeply entrenched in and intimate with the culture that seeps from the white anarchist scene. And they’re correct; the “baggage of the dominant social order is heavy,” but some black anarchists carry the baggage in a very fashionable way because of the proximity to power and access it provides them or they just genuinely love fucking on white people. Shid. Do you; but stop defining the black anarchist scene through the lens of your own experience and/or sympathy for whiteness and/or white anarchists.

Bash Back 2023 was more or less what I expected it to be, a healthy amount of faggotry in-between questionable politics and ultra-violence. Shout out to the wrestling! What was also expected was the all-too-familiar experience of being a black anarchist in the predominately white anarchist subculture. This is why “Black anarchist reflections” felt like the most refreshing thing that’s come out the bb! for me. I feel that it is worth adding a few more things to what those folks said.

Gleefully Cutting My Teeth on Others And In Raucous Filthy Love

I want to begin by saying that I know I am the tendency that you speak of, the queer tendency toward immolation and self-annihilation, that I want to blow up the artificial sun of this world, to go off the rails, to end the nightmare.

It hurts and is gut-wrenching to know that I am my mother’s child.

I can’t give a proper followup to the beautiful and eloquent love-letter you wrote.

I am the exact type of tendency where I can’t be caged by the standard social control mechanisms, that factional bitterness is where I feel at home only to destroy the factions until we are all once again individuals, that I want to bring the war home (I of course gleefully fight in the war on terror), that I love the energetics of forward motion “the speed and violence of action”, that I want to BLOW UP THE SUN, and I am sometimes otherworldly possessed by the necromancy I use for strength, our dead, the tortured souls, the “past” locked away and attempted to be solidified as “history”, that I foolishly play with arcane magic as I tight-walk the razor-wire.

A recent text, “a humble conversation on why you shouldn’t name your group” has reprised an older conversation among anarchists set off by a “letter to the anarchist galaxy.” Both outline the strategic risks and detriments posed by the decision to claim attacks as named formations. Contributing to this conversation, and in partial response to those demanding reportbacks from the Bash Back! Convergence, it makes sense to take a moment to name one proposal which was *not* put forward last week: the return of Bash Back! as a named organization. A number of pieces in Queer Ultraviolence lay out the limits hit by BB! in that form, and are worth revisiting for those curious. Those limits can only be harder in the current cybernetic-identitarian hell.

Bash Back! was nothing short of the joyfully militant & orgiastically unhinged gathering it advertised itself to be– queer AF, silly, sexy & sketchy antics ensued almost every day/nite.
